How many participants should attend a workshop?
Throughout our InPlace® Workshops there are small group discussions and practice exercises designed for 2-4 people. Based on that, here's our typical recommendation for session sizes:
For in-person sessions no more than 20 people.
For remote sessions, if using breakout rooms for the discussions and practice exercises, you could still do around 20 people. But if you're not using a platform with breakout rooms, we recommend no more than 6 people.
The small group discussions and practice exercises are critical to helping participants think through how they'll apply what they're learning in their role, setting, and with those they serve. These recommendations are designed to preserving that experience in the workshop whether in-person or remote.
