'Suicide is everyone's business’: Partner Spotlight with 360 Health + Community
In response to a series of youth suicides in the communities served by their headspace centres, 360 Health + Community reflected deeply and asked: “Are we doing enough to equip our teams to support individuals experiencing suicidal behaviours?”
Their answer was to roll out suicide prevention training across every role, from dieticians to corporate services, with SafeSide.
This conversation with Deborah Roberts covers practical implementation details that may be useful for other organizations considering SafeSide suicide prevention training information - including how they listened and adapted their approach based on feedback.
Throughout the rollout, 360 Health + Community discovered that every staff member had personal experience with suicide, reinforcing their belief that prevention skills are relevant for everyone, not just mental health specialists.
What they saw: improved confidence across all staff, consistent approaches to safety planning, and shared language across programs.
Ms Roberts also shared insights about continuous learning and the importance of empowering teams to have difficult conversations.
